Ms. Bonnie Nance chose Durham-Hensley Health and Rehabilitation following hospitalization resulting in a decline in her overall functional mobility. Upon admission, she was having difficulty with aspects of her activities of daily living, gait, and balance, impacting her ability to return home.
Ms. Nance worked hard daily participating in Physical and Occupational Therapy with determination to return home. She stated, “I have so enjoyed my time here and you all have made my recovery such a delight. I am so grateful to each of you and I’m glad to get home to enjoy time with our new puppy, Tex.”

Meet Autumn Broyles, our PRN Occupational Therapist, a seasoned therapist with 16 years of experience in Skilled Nursing Facility and 4 years of acute care at Greeneville Community Hospital. Autumn’s passion is stroke intervention and education.

Ms. Viola Browning chose Durham-Hensley Health and Rehabilitation following hospitalization resulting in a decline in her overall functional mobility. Upon admission, she was having difficulty with aspects of her activities of daily living, gait, and balance, impacting her ability to return home.
Ms. Browning worked hard daily participating in Physical and Occupational Therapy with determination to return home. She stated, “Thank you all for you everything you did to get me home so quickly. Each one I have encountered has made my stay very pleasant and have encouraged me so much along the way. I appreciate every one of you.”

Mr. Donald White admitted to Durham-Hensley Health and Rehabilitation following a hospitalization that led to a decline in his overall function.
Upon initial assessment, he presented with a weak, non-productive cough, and rhonchi were heard throughout upon auscultation. Respiratory Therapy (RT) communicated with Dr. Starr and FNP Holly and collaborated closely with the therapy team. Vest therapy was ordered and administered three times a week, and additionally as needed based on ongoing assessments. An incentive spirometer was also used to help reduce the risk of pneumonia.
With consistent daily assessments (Monday through Friday) and vest therapy three times a week and as needed, Mr. White’s respiratory status significantly improved over the course of a few weeks. Before discharge, he shared with RT and FNP, “It’s been a long road to get me to this point, but I am so much better now. You all have done such a good job. I’m going to miss you all, we’ve surely had some fun along the way, but nothing beats home.”
Mr. White, who served over 20 years in EMS from Newport to the Tri-Cities, also expressed that Durham-Hensley was by far one of the best Nursing Homes he had ever been in, and he had been in many facilities. He was very glad he chose us. He said he couldn’t have asked for better care.
It was truly a pleasure working with him daily and seeing his progress. We’re so thankful to have been a part of his journey and even more grateful to see him well enough to return home.

Mr. Harold Smith chose Durham-Hensley Health and Rehabilitation following hospitalization resulting in a decline in functional mobility. Upon admission, he was having difficulty with aspects activities of daily living, gait, and transfers, impacting his ability to return home.
Mr. Smith worked hard daily participating in Physical and Occupational Therapy and was determined to return home. He and his family stated, “Thank you all for everything you did to get him home and moving as well as he is. You all have been so helpful, and we appreciate it.”

Mr. Pack worked hard daily participating in Physical and Occupational Therapy and was determined to return home. He stated, “You had your work cut out for you but here I am going home again. I always trust you all to get me back on my feet and know I am going to receive excellent care here. This is the best place for care. I will miss you all so much.”

He stated, “You all are such a good bunch of people who have pushed me and made sure every aspect of my health has been taken care of. I can’t wait to get home but if I ever need rehab again, I know where I’m going.”

She stated, “Well you all are just like my family now and I’m going to miss all of you. I am anxious but ready to go home.” We are certainly going to miss Ms. Jones, but are happy she was able to return home!!

She stated, “I am grateful for each and everyone here that has helped me since being at the hospital. I can’t wait to get back home and sleep in my bed. Sometimes it’s the little things you miss.”

I sure have missed my sweet kitties laying with me in the recliner and I can’t wait to see them. Thank you all for everything.” We are going to miss Ms. Goodman’s sweet smile but are very happy she was able to return home!

These two ladies, Ms. Goodman and Ms. Capps, admitted to us for rehab as strangers that became roommates. They are now lifelong friends.
