Chuckey Summer Olympic Games in Therapy

This week the residents of Durham-Hensley Health and Rehabilitation participated in the Chuckey Summer Olympic Games 2024. The team events included shot put, ring toss, and object pick up. 

The ladies seemed to enjoy themselves and received “gold” trophies in each event. They cheered each other on and had great comradery together. Ms. Jean Paxton stated, “This has been so much fun and one of my favorite days that I have been here.” 

These events were designed to focus on each patient’s dynamic standing and sitting balance, transfer training, upper and lower body strengthening, morale, and socialization and all the while they had fun!
